The College – Timetables
All students are usually required to have a full-time programme comprising a certain amount of contact time or number of lessons per week. In addition to the AS-level or BTEC courses, a student’s timetable will include tutor group meetings, enrichment, Thinking and Reasoning (unless AS-level Critical Thinking is being studied) and possibly IT Functional Skills. Most students on advanced programmes will take four AS-levels or the equivalent. Students choosing the BTEC in Sport will also take two AS-levels as part of their programme.
In year two, students normally continue three AS-levels to A2 in order to achieve the full A-level and also add ‘extension’ subject to their programme. We offer a wide range of extension subjects including the Extended Project Qualification, Citizenship and the Certificate in Financial Studies. Alternatively some students opt for an additional AS-level, perhaps related to their career ambitions.
