As a Sixth Form College specialising in Advanced Level education for students aged 16-18 we offer you the opportunity to fulfil your academic potential and develop as an increasingly independent individual while becoming part of a vibrant, supportive learning community. More than that you have the opportunity to shape the future; each generation contributes to the life and character of WQE.
All students have a Progress Coach to ensure they make the most of their time at WQE. Our support for students – ranging from early advice on study skills to information and guidance on application to Higher Education – is tailored to individual requirements. Financial support, welfare issues and specific learning support needs are addressed by specialist staff, while extensive use is also made of peer support by fellow students.
Excellent teachers and students deserve excellent facilities. Teaching at WQE takes place in specialist accommodation, most of it recently purpose-built or comprehensively refurbished. Our IT facilities, Learning Resource Centre, the sports hall and grounds are all of a high standard and new classrooms and social and dining spaces opened. We are committed to continue developing our facilities.
The College’s “Outstanding” rating by Ofsted since 2008 is based primarily on our students’ consistently high level of academic success and progression into higher education or employment. But achievement at WQE can take many forms and each year we celebrate sporting triumphs, cultural creativity and community contributions on local, national and sometimes international stages. We encourage our students to be extraordinary!
