Support – Supporting Student Achievement

Support and Guidance helps you to achieve the best possible results from your academic studies. The College uses Minimum Expected Grades (MEGs) and national data to determine students’ minimum academic achievement.

MEGs are not grade predictions. They are a benchmark against which students and staff can measure progress. The focus is on maximising achievements, with subject departments being able to offer a high level of targeted support. MEGs draw together students, subject staff and personal tutors in partnership, committed to student success.

Measuring how well students do at the end of their courses in relation to their achievements when they entered the College is an important indicator of both the students’ and the College’s level of success. Over recent years QE has consistently performed exceptionally well on this ‘added-value’ measure, regularly being rated one of the very best sixth form Colleges in the country.
