Open Day gives you the chance to talk to staff about individual subjects, meet some of our current students to get their perspective on the College, see the facilities and also seek more general advice and information.
If you are considering applying to QE for 2014 entry try not to miss this opportunity. Parents and carers are very welcome too.
Parents and carers are invited to the College on Thursday 28th November between 5.30pm and 8.30pm or Tuesday 3rd December between 4pm and 7pm, to discuss students’ progress with subject and tutorial staff. Students are, of course, welcome and encouraged to attend.
It has been a promising start to the year for QE Sport, with some fantastic performances across the board, showcasing the strength and depth of both our new and returning students.
The Men’s Football 1st XI beat Wreake Valley College 4-2 in the first round of the Leicestershire Schools U19 County Cup. Kieran MacKie scored a first half hat-trick and captain Brady Hickey scored a second half goal to put the college through to the next round in defence of the trophy they have won for the last two years. The team also secured their first league victory, beating Melton Vale 5-1 as they look to defend this title for the third year too.
Last week (October 7th-11th) was Women’s Football Week 2013; an initiative launched by British Colleges Sport in partnership with The Football Association to raise the profile of women’s football in Further Education. Here at Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College, we hosted and took part in a number of events to mark this.
The College’s annual Prizegiving Evening, attended by close to 600 guests, was held on Thursday 12th September.
Staff and students at QE are celebrating success on A-level results day. The College achieved an overall pass rate of 98%; maintaining the high performance of previous years.
963 students were entered in total and 294 achieved results comprising solely A*-B grades. More than 75% of all entries achieved high grades (A*-C).
